You were caught inside my thunderstorm
Twisted, nearly broke your arm
Hail was breaking all your armor down
Lightning emblazoned on me like a crown
You said I terrified you like a demon
As if I was the goddess of a pagan heathen
I told you dance
Dance in the rain
You said you felt the iron of my hellish gaze
I told you run
Then run away
You said my lightning had left you blind in a daze
You were caught inside my thunderstorm
Battered, you couldn't perform
Thunder shattered all your walls down
I was wreathed by a lightning crown
You called me evil- I'm a demon
I said you followed no such religion
I told you dance
Dance in the rain
You said you couldn't bear the sting of my thunderous ways
I told you run
Just run away
You said I was lightning and haunted all your days
So just run
Run away
My thunderstorm is building power in a craze
And I will dance
Dance in my rain
My lightning crown upon my head I will raise
Trapped inside my thunderstorm
Twisted, shattered, in my final form

Stitched Up With Wrongs
My feet cannot move to their music
For there's barely any melody
It sounds mostly like repetitive
Tap, tap, tapping
My body is not rigid, but fluid
It dips melodically
Incapable of robotic
One, two, three-ing
My voice cracks and whispers
My lips speak of lust
Their's automatically responds
With what is just
My arms can't act out their charades
My logic can't perform their parody
It's mostly too rehearsed
One, two , three-acting
I cannot dance to their rhythm
Nor sing their worship songs
I was never made for this
I'm all stitched up with wrongs

Frenzied Passion Dance
The lamp glows soft and casts light across
the bars of this golden headboard here
and soft beneath my knees this bed
spill me across these cotton sheets
this overwhelming lust for touch
and breath that heats my cheek
My palms are damp with seeking you
and nearly at the edge
your lips against my shoulders and
your teeth that graze my neck
those hands that grasp or hold me close
and eyes that do entrance
I can't seem to catch my breath here now
this frenzied passion dance
and feel that overwhelming strength
this journey in your hands
To turn around and touch your curls
all blonde that kiss your brows
and ache to feel your fingertips
undoing me there now
Your eyes enrapture pools of blue
and lips that steal my soul
my release I fly to heights for you
and together feeling whole
the time is short don't break the moment
and steal away until I find you again

Unforgiven Door
"Speak to the Door"
You're going to learn something new
I shall teach you to plead
To play a new tune
It's easy once you don't have a choice
And all that you'll need
Is the sound of your voice
It will echo back to you from a closed door
You can say what you want, but it won't change
It won't open up, it will remain shut
But you're gonna learn to speak to the door
Because I won't be answering you anymore
2/1/14
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"Unforgiven"
rattle and shake
turn now and break
take back the way
you say my name
it's fallacy
and fake
whisper and pray
to claim the day
I won't be here
to hear my name
it's wasted
and fades......
all is the way it's always been
but this time you'll be unforgiven

Time Burdens
"Burdens"
Your burdens on your back are glue to you
like tar but drenched in a hue
that resembles a berry wine
They weigh you down and hold you back
to convey now what you lack
with the ability to say you're fine
They feel so heavy, feel like stones
sing a song that sounds like moans
with your burdens burying you
They weigh you down to sink you dead
beneath the ground above your head
those burdens know what to do
they weigh on you
they weigh on you
So peel them off and throw them down
and trample them, do not frown
but step away and raise your arms
With lighter thoughts and freedom songs
you'll walk away from all those wrongs
no need to hear their loud alarms
just walk away
just walk away
they weighed on you too long, I'd say
just walk away

"Take Your Time"
Graze my shoulder, trace my spine
Lay your head against mine
Take me slow, take your time
Darling, you’re in your prime
Like a dance, like we dine
Let our movements intertwine
If we rush it would be a crime
So take me slow, take your time
Mold your mouth against mine
I will hold no caution sign
Take me slow, take your time
Play my body until I chime
There will be no final finish line
Until we count to sixty-nine
Oh, take me slow, oh take your time
Do not rush this upward climb
Like a smooth, rich, perfect wine
Savor every moment we combine

The Fall of Rome
Take my fragile bony hands and lead me into the dark
and with me dance across this floor
like it is Central Park
and when I awake from this dream tear out my heart
and with it stitch my insides up
like macabre art
I want to hear your lullaby whispered in my ear
before you close them off
whisper softly Dear
When I am buried in the earth behind your home
remember the dance we shared
the fall of Rome
I want you to carry my hollow soul underneath your tongue
where each time you say my name
or air escapes a lung
You will remember my bony hands in a darkened room
where we danced across the floor
before I met my doom

Dancing Still
Perfect, I am not perfect
What are you seeking?
Why isn't it me?
Graceful, is not who I am
I don't understand
what you planned
to do with me
So, tell me what is this all about?
I am not your ideal, I know
Tell me why are we dancing still
when the music is over
and the weather's cold?
Perfect, I am not perfect
What are you needing?
Is it not me?
Grateful, oh, how I am careful
to tell you how wonderful
you are to me
So, hold me, hold me regardless
I know I am not your ideal
And listen, listen, the music is over
But we're dancing still
And we're dancing still

Scorched Woods
"Scorched Skin"
This skin
it itches
this new form, it chafes and it tightens
and I am unable to shake the frightening feeling
that I am trapped
and unable to be freed
So I burn down this house
to get out, to get out
leave with scorched skin
I crawl away from the remains
the ash and fallen debris
but I'm finally free
and yet, the world burns on behind me
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"The Woods"
Hello, piperfly
hello wonderbird
Good day to you, peace-bringer
Dance away now piperfly
and go back to your enchanted wood
give me wonderbird and leave
Hello, peace-bringer
How is the day?
Wonderbird said you'd be on your way
But peace-bringer cries
"wonderbird has died
and piperfly has flown away
So, where to now? Where to then?
Where is hope and where is mend?
While we are all faltering here
I am wondering what comes again"
Hello, blue light fly
how was your day?
Peace-bringer said you'd be on your way
But she is gone, gone for good
for piperfly flew off to the woods
and I had told her to dance away
but it killed wonderbird
when she left
So now, blue light fly
where will you go?
And you reply,
"oh I don't know"
And now peace-bringer is not herself
but you can try to help
Hello, piperfly
how was your sojourn?
Wonderbird is so broken
Peace-bringer has died for him too
Now, what shall we do?
Go on, go back to your enchanted wood
I will raise wonderbird
I'll plant peace-maker again
and blue light fly be on the mend
Oh, how, oh, how this all sings
the craziest songs of wounded things
they all have cried, we've broken wings
but I do not mend all of these things
This skin
it itches
this new form, it chafes and it tightens
and I am unable to shake the frightening feeling
that I am trapped
and unable to be freed
So I burn down this house

Dark Blue Light
"Blue Light Spring"
you were starlight, you were snowflakes
you were blossoms and blue eyes and earthquakes
you were blue lights drowning out the red that took my hope
you were a dancer and a dreamer and a newborn make-believer
and hope born upon the sun bursting into Spring
And every moment after was a magical journey
Dancing through the daylight like a dream
You drowned out almost everything
you were music, you were melodies
you were glitter and sparkles and daydreams
you were blue lights drowning out the red that took my hope
you were a dancer and a dreamer and a newborn make-believer
and somehow through it all you were like Spring
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"It Was Dark"
And it was dark, so very dark
and clouded inside my eyes
There wasn't but a pinprick
and that light was sure to die
I was wrestling in the corners
for forgiveness that ran away
trying to grab a hold of something
so I could remember the way
The way to let go
the way to move on
the way to breathe
But I was faltering...
And it was dark inside the car
and lights were in my eyes
And you let me speak it all out
I had never even tried
I'd been battling the cobwebs
trying to run the other way
But you had me lay it all out
Not knowing what I'd say
And I finally let go
and I moved on
and I could actually breathe
I'm so very grateful
So very thankful
For that gift that you gave me
No matter what may happen
What life may bring
I am lighter and better and happier you see
For it was dark, so very dark
But you helped me come back...
...back to me.

Sleeping Beside Doom
He's the piper in the waters
leads you deeper as you go
like a serpent in the silence
you follow him below
and he ends you
drowning
She's the stalker in the forest
hunts you deeper as you go
like a creature in the stillness
you the prey will never know
when she ends you
dying
They're the enemies we hold to
sleep beside each night we need to
and curl around each morning
like fools we hold onto nothing
He's the whispers in the meadow
brushes kisses across your spine
a tempter he will beguile you
and cause you to lose your mind
once he ends you
deceiving
She's the glow behind your smile
makes the music you will dance to
and as you follow her away now
know that she is going to kill you
and once she kills you
bleeding
They're the enemies we hold to
sleep beside each night we need to
and curl around each morning

but doom
we are sleeping beside doom

Moonlight Masquerade
I was the masquerade, my dear
the frills, feathers and gems, my dear
I was the music and the laughter and joy
and I was the smile on a face too coy
the glee in their hearts dancing in swirls
with a finger wrapped round the ends of my curls
I was the parade through the middle that night
the dance throughout beneath moon's light
I was the lips that smiled in perfection
the last inch of the floor filled with inspiration
I was the masquerade, my dear
the dance planned for chances, my dear
The masks and the hidden faces of youth
the concealment in this dance lacking truth
I was the music and the laughter and joy
and I was the smile on a face too coy
I made the glee in their hearts dancing in swirls
with a finger wrapped round the ends of my curls
the charade that ended at exactly midnight
when the slippers all fell beneath the moon's light
the frills, feathers and gems, my dear

Boys beware.....
"The Girls Next Door"
on the eve of a nightmare they perform wearing pearls
and lace, a corset of satin, and hair caught up in curls
they dance to the sound of your sorrows and pain
with music to sing to that makes you insane
their faces like angels hide all their sins in a mask
they'll bend over backwards and do all that you ask
the price that you pay is red like fine silk
and flows out your heart and spills like it's milk
you thought they were magical creatures of joy
but discovered they use and discard you like a toy
their performance is lights flashing to entrance
quick, shut your eyes and don't follow that dance

Broken Merry-Go-Round
we all tap, tap, tap dance around the truth like a merry-go-round that's broken and doesn't know it yet
we find marvels in the inconsequential things and tedium in the marvelous
we are like fools stepping off the cliffs into the sea to be swallowed whole and unfulfilled
why capture moon beams and eyelashes and shooting stars in our hands when we simply wish to chuck them out into the universe?
i am finding music in the silence of cavernous moments where the words you should have spoken never left your lying lips
and i am finding poetry in the stupidity of life's choices made selfishly
and it all seems very wrong indeed
i am a rambling fool and tap, tap, tap dancing around the truth like i have become the broken children's ride
and who is to say what my end will be when i realize the wealth of knowledge i ignored all these years?
we all like fools wait for the moment where destiny collides with infinity and eternity just begins for us
and somehow we seek that pearl, that one no one ever put a price on
we collect lucky charms and good luck wishes and hope to God we fall into a love we never knew existed and when we realize it's not what we wanted we cry
if i find solace in your pain and amusement in your discomfort and music in your silence am i a horrible person?
if i spin around in glee on this broken merry-go-round am i also a fool?
and i wonder if i should mind that notion
for all the world is a stage and life is a journey but hell if i know where i'm at in this splendid affair
i think the sound of your voice is choking on the absence of truth
and we all tap, tap, tap dance around that soundless bounty
like fools in a magic show we believe in the illusions of the world your words created once
lovers are all foolish puppets in a game of reality in the vast world we created simply to chuck it into the universe with the emblems of our useless luck
and i never enjoyed so much the facts you never shared before because now i see the essence of what you never could have become
but it's ok sir
this ride is spinning fast

Waterfalls in June
ease into my cavern, fall upon me
like waterfalls in June
and sting along my shoulders
and I'll dance nails across yours too
uncomfortable upon your skin
the dew is slower falling
and breath it steels out of your lips
to leave you needing, longing
like climbing up this mountain height
and tumble back down slow
and plunging into deeper depths
breathless further there we go
and like a run across the sands
and flight like birds beneath the moon
I'll toss myself back into your hands
fall upon you like waterfalls in June
and still this earth we played across
and cause the stars to weep
until every moment in our hearts
is etched forever just to keep
this memory here with us

giddy like a girl high

happy is my namesake
spent with cotton candy dreams

Flying Solo Unperturbed
"Unperturbed"
High walls and faces all around
voices crashing against my ears
and it's cold in here
Your voice so sure beside me now
and your warmth is making me calm
and your eyes draw a smile
and your freckles make me grin
I shiver a tad and you notice, you do
and your jean jacket finds its way to my arms
and I'm wrapped in your scent
and held by your warmth
and we're the only two in this room
No one will notice while lost in their world
and I won't let this stark room dismay
while I have the warmth of your unperturbed smile
and your jacket becomes my shield
keeps everything else at bay
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"Flying Solo"
I want to race the world on
swift wings home
to catch the birds
and dance
within the moments that
could pass me by
I want to grab his hand
and tell him I no longer need
his wind to guide my
pathway home
for I alone will fly from here
and fly my flight alone

Your voice so sure beside me now
and your warmth is making me calm
and your eyes draw a smile
and your freckles make me grin
I shiver a tad and you notice, you do
and your jean jacket finds its way to my arms
and I'm wrapped in your scent
and held by your warmth
and we're the only two in this room
No one will notice while lost in their world
and I won't let this stark room dismay
while I have the warmth of your unperturbed smile
and your jacket becomes my shield
keeps everything else at bay

"Flying Solo"
I want to race the world on
swift wings home
to catch the birds
and dance
within the moments that
could pass me by
I want to grab his hand
and tell him I no longer need
his wind to guide my
pathway home
for I alone will fly from here
and fly my flight alone
