Wooden Toys

It's hard to bear the pain and harder still to let go
It's hard to ride these waves
and hard to watch them go down below
We're the ones left here
along this shoreline
and we wait for them to come back to us
They seem to think these boats are safe
and they think the sea will be gentle now
It's all fools stearing wooden toys
grown ups acting like little boys
and we pay the price
It's hard to ease the pain and harder once you know
They'll end inside these waves
and meet their silence down below
We're the ones left here
along this shoreline
and once they leave we wait in agony alone
They should have known these boats weren't safe
and that the sea would like to blot them out
Silly fools stearing wooden toys
damn you men, acting like boys
We pay the price
everytime we watch you die
