anger is a fist
anger is a scream
anger is a yell
a nightmare not a dream
don't ever ask them why
the angry often cry
anger hurts them both
anger doesn't lie
shatter all the moments
in record breaking time
angry at the loss
angry at the crime
let it out...
...shout
she said paint her roses red
she wanted them painted red
nothing mattered then
but that
'why aren't my roses red
did you hear what I had said?'
the moment came and went
at that
anger is a fist
anger is a scream
roses torn a part
by Alice in a dream
she doesn't know why
she began to cry
angry at the Queen
anger doesn't lie
the looking glass is shattered
in record breaking time
angry now and cross
angry at the crime
let it all out now
shout it all out now
roses remained white
such a bright sight
Alice left that night
she didn't want to fight

I Must Need You
Just today I, I, I was stuck trying
To see passed my wants
and to see what I need
but you're the one thing I cannot let go of
green eyes, and white hands, and whether I know of
a way to let you go, I can't
I am throwing up my hands
I must need you like the trees need the sun
I must need you like a wolf needs to run
I must need you like the air needs you to breathe
I must need you like the forest needs the trees
I must need you like the dandelion needs the breeze
I must need you like the air needs you to breathe
Yesterday I, I, I was left deciding
To let go of my wants
and learn what I need
but you're the one thing I always heard of
green eyes, white hands, a man among men of
courage and strength and grace
I know I've been forced to face
I must need you like the trees need the sun
I must need you like a wolf needs to run
I must need you like the air needs you to breathe
I must need you like the forest needs the trees
I must need you like dandelions needs the breeze
I must need you like the air needs you to breathe
I can't be me, without wanting to be -
what you need

Winter White
the air seems to await the day of warming
where spring is dawning
but winter's been yawning
spitting out snow
and I've been cold
treasuring the knowledge of spring
awaiting on the day it will bring
softest green
spirals of winter white and bright, oh bright
is the light against the blanket of snow
whisper of snowflakes against hair
and your nose
how bitter sometimes the air
colder blows
please take care
cuddle close

Shiver White Moth
"Paint it White"
Burn my retinas
in a startling white
paint my horizon
and cover that light
the color that comes again
each setting night
and reminds me of a friend
so paint it white
paint it white, white, white
and burn it bright
until finally
I go blind
:::::::::::::::::::::::::
"Moths Corrupt"
Too many months and holes appear
the moth ate the clothes hanging here
so little holes let in the cold
let in the light
and now look old
Too many months and moths corrupt
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"Shiver"
Shiver but no cover
no lover, no guide, no guardian
no feather for a pillow filled with stones
no leg to stand upon on your own
Shiver but no shelter
no helper, no friend, never someone
no pitcher for your water to quench your thirst
no one to hold is just the worst
So you shiver and you shake
laying there wide awake
dreaming of a lover or a friend
a helper or a healer a guardian
Shiver on your own because you chose it
Funny how shivering was not your wish
Burn my retinas
in a startling white
paint my horizon
and cover that light
the color that comes again
each setting night
and reminds me of a friend
so paint it white
paint it white, white, white

Red, White and Blue
"RED"
it seems it comes down to red
red lips, red around a head
and red, red wings in a tree
red hair, red clothes
a red dress, and red goes
'round and 'round all about red
red heart, red love, red all above
and there's red in lips and love
red, red wings in a tree
and a red rose reminding me
it's all about the red
red lips, red around a head
red hair, red clothes
and a red bed
I see it's all about the red
red, red, red, red, and more red

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"WHITE"
It's not that I dislike the golden skin
but you see what moves within
is the thought of white against my white sheets
It's the way the cream colors blend and I want
to just dive right in
because I'm in love with white skin
Like milk, like moonlight, like white cotton, too
and smooth like silk beneath my fingers
I like the white way of you
Your white skin, freckles and
the way you lack a tan
I adore the way your white skin looks on me
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"BLUE"
Wherever I go I carry the thought of you
I recount the knowledge of your eyes of blue
Yet time whithers away the shade I can't recall
Each year passing I feel the memory get small
I know your eyes were the richest hue
Of a startling glorious shade of blue
But if a painter handed colors to blend into you
I could never quite recreate that shade of blue
Like lapis lazuli seas and stormy waters
So alluring and so captivating, too
But I can't quite explain that shade of blue
Only that it was a color I learned because of you

Cinderella Summer
"Cinderella"
Midnight strikes
I'm no Cinderella
I've no glass slipper
I've no magic pumpkin
or Fairy Godmother
My days are work filled
and my Godfather sells clothes
I'm fond of flat shoes
and pillows
So, maybe Charming, you'd like to see
the view of mountains
and green scenery
I'm no Cinderella
my hair isn't blonde
I don't fancy the high life or city lights
I like the stars
and fireflies
Midnight strikes
There is no rushing down castle steps
there's just me and my cat
and a house on a mountaintop
So, maybe Charming, you'd like to see
the woodlands outside
and the stars with me
I'm no Cinderella
I won't play that game
I'd rather a sword
and my own name
I don't need you to ride up on a white horse
I've no time for that upkeep
I just want a man to come and see the night with me
I'm no Cinderella
I don't need to be
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"Summer"
Summer, every year, I wish from you the best
And yet, and yet, and yet....
You leave me with this sense of missed moments
and confusions
and frustrations
I just like the Fall
I like to see you come and see you go
and you leave, oh, oh
Such a mountain of strange things
Summer, you have broken my heart
Summer, you have torn me apart
Summer, you have undone me
You have taken me higher than the walls can handle
Made me stronger than I thought capable
You have healed, hurt and hindered me
You have created illusions and blurred my eyes
Made me cry in fits and live out lies
You have made me feel the greatest happy things
and left me wanting
Summer, every year I, I wish for the best, I do
and yet, and yet, and yet...
You leave me with photos and memories
Missed moments of things that could be
and then I greet the Fall
I like to see you come and go
when you leave, oh, oh
Such a mountain of strange things
Summer, you have mended my heart
You have been a fresh new start
Summer, you have undone me
You've been more than I was able to handle
and all that I could scarcely remember
So many, many things
Summer, when you come this year
Be good to me
Summer, when you come this year
I want to be
missing you when you go
when you leave, oh, oh
I want to greet the Fall
with a thousand memories
of good things
Midnight strikes

Mansion Down by the Sea
when the page I see is white
and I've no words to write
and I can't be polite
when the hopes I had have shattered
and nothing else mattered
sickly, here bruised and battered
I await you
You made me a home near the ocean there
a coffin, a prison, a hole so bare
You called it my mansion down by the sea
and you sank me, you drowned me, I'm ending
when the words I speak all are lost
and I cannot bear the cost
into the air all my dreams you tossed
just to watch them all shatter
for none of this will matter
serve me my heart on a platter
I await you
You made me a home near the ocean there
a coffin, a prison, a hole so bare
You called it my mansion down by the sea
and you sank me, you drowned me, I'm ending
In eyes the color of ocean waves
You took my hand and promised me
You'd stand by my side all these days
and bid me to follow you faithfully
You made my death by the ocean there
a coffin, a prison in a hole so bare
It isn't a mansion down by the sea
it's a place to drown me, to kill me, slowly
now I have no words left to free my soul
I will lie helpless here in this lonely hole
until an angel with a saving role
comes to take my hand and give me wings
lifts me out of this darkness while he sings
words to scream at you, to me he brings
I'll escape from my home by the ocean there
a coffin, a prison, no longer will I care
Blue eyes will not be the mansion for me
nor will it be the death of me
you will not be the death of me
I'm not drowning

Iron Ground
"Iron Gate"
You're a landscape photo of doom
A haunted corridor and frozen time
You're a dead flower never to bloom
and you won't claim what is mine
So step back here now
And wait
I will place up this gate
These iron bars spell out for you clearly
You cannot have what belongs to me
You're a collection of the dreadful ones
A nasty little thought inside your mind
You're the one choking out my lungs
and I am breaking down inside
So step back right now
And wait
I will place up this gate
These iron bars will explain it perfectly
You don't get to keep what belongs to me

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"The Ground"
the ground is where we drag ourselves along
no flags of white
no freedom song
the ground is where we lay our souls
no words to save
no softer holes
the ground is where we leave behind hope
no ending light
no way to cope
the ground is where we see the sky
no way to reach
no time to fly
the ground is where we lay for sleep
no more pain again
no more fight to keep

Moon Bird
"Broken Winged Bird"
tragedy in white
walks alone at night
sings a song of sorrow
like a broken winged bird
tragedy in white
sings alone at night
like a lonely sparrow
a solitary broken bird
tragedy in white
little lonesome night
sings a song of sorrow
like a broken winged bird

"Capture the Moon"
capture the moon, my friend
the moon is leaving you
take a glance upwards
and steal your soul
capture the moon, my friend
she is drifting away from you
lift your eyes heavensward
and take back your soul
capture the moon, my friend
her light a beacon for you
take your face skywards
and reclaim your soul
capture the moon, capture her
take her and follow the night
for when the dawn comes she leaves again
and the world becomes too bright
capture the moon, capture the moon
take back your soul, reclaim it soon
she will leave er dawn comes
capture the moon, my friend
before the night ends again

Paint the Horizon White
There's a storm
on the wind
battle shield and sword
with a name
and paint
the
horizon
white
make a marker
at the ending
take away the word
uttered here
on the
edge of my
horizon
broken
storm
and lightning
and caged
in chains to the meaning
of the endings marked
by my mistake
vast and senseless
to be scarred
by the
cruel and
undesirable
echoes
of
thunder
Take my shield
Take the name
Take the hope within the rains
and break
all the windows
shattering
glass
on the
floors
of
life
and spark the clouds
my name in them
and erase the space by the wind
to end a war of stormy skies
paint
the
horizon
white
and colorless this emptiness
between the thunderclaps
for the name
on the tip
of the wind's tongue
is wrong
it caused the storm
again
