My Thunderstorm

You were caught inside my thunderstorm
Twisted, nearly broke your arm
Hail was breaking all your armor down
Lightning emblazoned on me like a crown
You said I terrified you like a demon
As if I was the goddess of a pagan heathen
I told you dance
Dance in the rain
You said you felt the iron of my hellish gaze
I told you run
Then run away
You said my lightning had left you blind in a daze
You were caught inside my thunderstorm
Battered, you couldn't perform
Thunder shattered all your walls down
I was wreathed by a lightning crown
You called me evil- I'm a demon
I said you followed no such religion
I told you dance
Dance in the rain
You said you couldn't bear the sting of my thunderous ways
I told you run
Just run away
You said I was lightning and haunted all your days
So just run
Run away
My thunderstorm is building power in a craze
And I will dance
Dance in my rain
My lightning crown upon my head I will raise
Trapped inside my thunderstorm
Twisted, shattered, in my final form

Grey Duct Tape Robot

"Not a Robot"

We all grasp for a quality of rightness
A sense of belonging
And importance
Meaning and depth
We seek grace and power
All vying for position at the top
To be honored by our peers
Not me-
I want solitary expounding of thoughts
Crashes of intellect
Imaginative journeys
No sense of belonging
To a form or a product
I am not a robot

"Grey"

I color the world around me in grey
why? because I can I say
I needn't be a sunny shade or such
because I like the grey so much
I like the foggy morning misty days
and like the storm clouds billowing
I like the dingy, darkening haze
and like the wind that's whistling
I am a stormy soul of grey
not a sunny sort of shade
I color all the world around me so
because grey is all that I know

"Duct Tape"

This world is a troublesome one
Not sure how we got along so far
It wasn't from numbers or wishing on stars
or from fallen eyelashes, I assure you
Must have been blood, sweat and tears
duct tape and glue
A hope, a prayer, and I got by with you

Diddle Your Fears

Hey diddle diddle
Let me tell you a riddle
What is big and is little
Like a storm or a trickle
Might be severe or fickle
More than a tat or tittle
Caught on the outs or the middle
Can you tell me what's the riddle?
It could be great or be little
Like a river or a trickle
It's a problem that can whittle
You on down until you're brittle
And you break down the middle
It's your fears, big or little
Don't you be non-committal
They can become exponential
Far more than just a trickle
Bring you down , diddle diddle
Bring you down

Blue Storm Death of Us

"Storm of Us"

My stomach is wrestling with my heart
Some battle of gut wrenching feeling
An ache that surfaces
A sorrow that won't die
I know they say these things take time
I'm still trying to swim in a hurricane
Washing back to this bloody island
I don't want to be away from your ship
But you're destroying me
This storm of us will drown me
My heart sputters out fleeting moments of feeling
I can't stand this island or this storm
Damn your ship, I'm alone

"Blue Eyed Death"

Maybe you're my demon
to hold me down
Blue eyes and a sword
to cut me down
I always thought Savior when I saw you
Now I wonder why it all comes back to you
Are you gonna drown me
in the sea
the color of your eyes?
I would gladly stop breathing
in the sea
the color of your eyes
Just to see you again
Just to see you again
Such a fool I am
You must be my demon
to bury me down
Blue eyes and a sword
to flay me open now
I always thought you would rescue me
Now I think you've been killing me
Are you gonna drown me
in the sea
the colors of your eyes?
I would gladly stop breathing
in the sea
the colors of your eyes
Blue eyed death
Just to see you again

The Hell of Memory

Hail the hell on the waters
Hail the waves
and the towers
But her eyes like ice
Topaz puddles her price
Hail the illusions on hills
Hail the rains
and the chills
Well her eyes were like moss
Losing her was such a loss
Bright light and pain
and walls without a name
Can't see through rain
and I've nowhere left to claim
I miss the wild forests
I miss their tangled hair
I miss the one who watched us
Our guard was passing fair
Hail the hell in the stormy sky
Hail the thunder
and hasten the lie
Hail the crashing of the sea
Hail the waves
and wait it out with me
Because I miss eyes like sapphires
Because I miss walls of stone
Because illusions make raging fires
That burnt away what I had known
Hail the hell of memory
Hail the unknown

Storm Cloud

I’m a storm cloud not a storm drain
Not a drizzle but a heavy rain; you better start seeing things for how they really are
You can talk sharp, hurricane, splinter on the words pouring out in pain
But the lessons really are inside of the insane, like an alabaster mystery without a proper name
They are mask wearing, fast sharing, manipulative snakes, like devils in the desert they are feeding you their taste
In acrid ceremonies living on the inside of your skull, contemplate the betterment and live for something more
She has a forked tongue, single eye, one that wanders, one that lies, listen to the poison dripping from her voice
It’s a velvet kind of sound and leaves you with one choice
Take the heat, take the sand, take what you deserve, you know you can, and says you don’t deserve a forest, just a fake hallucinated oasis
Darling, I’m a storm cloud not a storm drain
I do not drizzle when I rain, and you must be certain I know what they really are
Single serpents in the ground feeding liars until they starve, insane, ponder on the pain
Leave your lessons at the door and make yourself a fake history without a proper name
They are mask wearing, fast sharing, manipulative snakes, like devils in the desert with only one thing to taste
Acrid ceremonies featuring the innocent, contemplate the betterment and hurry shut your door
Foolish one, closed your eyes, seal the whispers of your demise, they will slowly poison and leave you with no choice
In velvet tongues they have one voice
Coated in heat, and in sand, what you deserve you understand, and so you know you deserve a forest but are getting just a fake oasis
I am a storm cloud, not a storm drain; I am nearly like a hurricane
I don’t play around with words and lies
I do not lead you to demise
But they do

Wicked Cupid

You're like lightning
I can only see
when the storms come
You're like lightning
I can't touch
or I'll be done
You're a bright light in a streak
across my grey sky
and your light could make me weak
if you came nigh
So, shoot me down
and strike me dead
and charge my body
from feet to head
Oh, just shoot me down
and strike me dead
like a wicked Cupid

You're like lightning
Brief and quick
you come and go
You're like lightning
you bring the rain
and I won't know
You'll be a light swift across my sky
in burning heat
Never know when you'll come nigh
my own defeat
You'll shoot me down
and strike me dead
and charge my body
from feet to head
Oh, shoot me down
and strike me dead
like a wicked Cupid

This Shall Pass

Who played with your symmetry
robbed you of poetry
and took all the remnants of hope
but I'll build you a canopy
to cover your apathy
and wait at the end of this rope
for this to pass
let this pass
like a storm driven across these shores
Who played with your empathy
cast off your ecstasy
and took all of your hope
but I'll rebuild your energy
to form your elegy
and tie a knot in this rope
for this shall pass
this too shall pass
like a storm that leaves these shores

Hurricane and Dirty Sea

he pulled you down
'til you tasted earth
and bitter stones
and tree root frown

and said he
inside of you
is like a hurricane
and the dirty sea

no more shall you
walk in my yard
nor open my doors
for you I never knew

he kicked your chin
and sent you off
some barren road
marked by a sin

and lo, I see
inside of you
is like a hurricane
and the dirty sea

you walk and cry
and sky rains down
and songbirds mourn
as they fly by

the trees all frown
and stars watch you
as you walk from home
on your way to drown

angels take you in
with arms full of love
and their divinest grace
overlooking sin

and they will be
calming inside you
the hurricane
and green tinged sea

and still your storm
and bring you home
and tuck you in
all safe and warm

and then wilt he
kneel by you
no more hurricane
nor a dirty sea

and say to you
in reverence and love
for you his child
invoking all that's true?

will say he
of your humble life
and all your dreams
beside the sea

that you his son
are forgiven now
and loved the more
after what is done?

and lo, I see
inside of you
was a hurricane
and a dirty sea

and on your shoreline
was a sad little boy
and a broken life
and a warning sign

but angels I did call
to bring you home
and heal your heart
and stop your fall

and still your storm
and bring you home
and tuck you in
all safe and warm

A Large Pebble

The wind ravishes this soul of mine, this breath of mine
it leaves and in its place remains a stone
heavy, round and bitter
the absence of what was needful is now just a large pebble
If I could grasp onto the hope that was once within me
and harness it like wind
I should like to think I could safely love again
where my soul would be free and alive and floating on the tendrils of clouds
but no, 'tis a stone
heavy, round and bitter
and the absence of what is needful; just a large pebble
and stilled
like an abandoned home after the storms
How can I recover from such things?
My hands are cold and my chest is a cavern and I am a pit of hopelessness
where wind doth rage unstoppably cold
and left is only a stone
a large pebble
heavy, round and bitter

Choked the Lion Dead

“Dead Lion”

You were brave like lions in a grave
Soot and sand your home
I was warning before the storming
But now I stand alone
I was trying to get you to see the clouds
But no matter how great and loud
My voice cannot reach your closed off mind
And now my dear, we’re out of time
So go and roar your mighty roar
Inside the tomb of the ground
And I will be seeking all the more
And I won’t even hear your sound
You were brave like lions in a grave
Forever silenced then
I could not make sense to you
And so I lost a friend
I wish I could go back and change all the time
Wasted that you wouldn’t pay me mind
But no dear, it’s over, the ground holds you now
And I cannot reach you, I’m not allowed
So go roar your mighty roar
Inside the tomb of the ground
And I will be seeking all the more
Unable to hear your mighty sound

"Choked"
I choke, every time, every way, every rhyme
I fall and
bitterest of all
is the closeness that I never could close
the line never crossed, now dead, I suppose
but in every moment
passed by
my tongue sticks to my mouth too dry
and nothing changes
at all

Scrambling From Their Sordid Affair

"Scrambling"

scrambling for leverage
to find a foothold
and needing the moment
to breathe you in
i am left in this silence
it's erasing my thoughts
leaves breathless and
taking my end
caught twisted in longing
and nothing is real
take me over
to breathe you in
i am battling stillness
and parading my sorrows
leaves me echoing senseless and
breaking to bend
i'm climbing to reach you
but meeting dead ends

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

"Sordid Affair"

Such foolish games like a child
in a clown costume
you leave yourself in stupid phrases
and ridiculous hand motions
seeking exotic scents
and spicier foods
wanting mansions and castles
and carpeted floors
granite, marble and mahogany
and gilt covered doors
your disgusting sordid affair
like a storm cloud blotted the sun
and wearing a mask like a clown in a scene
i feel you're full of nothing more
you wanted a sand covered landscape
and sunsets to dream of
and tangles caught up in your hair
mansions and castles
and carpeted floors
granite, marble and mahogany
and gilt covered doors
sleeping inside your sordid affair
with pearls dumped into your lap
diamonds and bobbles and jade for a song
and a damnable dream in your thoughts
such foolish games you made
out of the moon
and wanted caravans to follow you home
needed mansions and castles
and vast marble floors
granite, frescoes and mahogany
and windows spacious in doors
haughty and high minded with not a care
in your reckless and foolish sordid affair

Paint the Horizon White

There's a storm
on the wind
battle shield and sword
with a name
and paint
the
horizon
white
make a marker
at the ending
take away the word
uttered here
on the
edge of my
horizon
broken
storm
and lightning
and caged
in chains to the meaning
of the endings marked
by my mistake
vast and senseless
to be scarred
by the
cruel and
undesirable
echoes
of
thunder
Take my shield
Take the name
Take the hope within the rains
and break
all the windows
shattering
glass
on the
floors
of
life
and spark the clouds
my name in them
and erase the space by the wind
to end a war of stormy skies
paint
the
horizon
white
and colorless this emptiness
between the thunderclaps
for the name
on the tip
of the wind's tongue
is wrong
it caused the storm
again
